TRAILS & NATURE ACTIVITIES AROUND KOUTS
Retreat from the noise and speed of everyday life and experience the natural beauty that abounds in southern Porter County.
Take a leisurely walk along one of several trails in the Kouts area or spend some time rediscovering the simple joys of a camping getaway.
DRAZER PARK – 908 W. DAUMER ROAD
The Kouts Drazer Park was dedicated in 1966, and named in honor of Thomas Drazer of Kouts, the first Vietnam casualty from Porter County.
Drazer Park is located on the south west side of town at the end of Daumer Road. It’s a quiet, shady place to relax with a picnic, or just sit and visit with friends while the kids play in the playground.
If you would like to reserve the pavilion or gazebo for family reunions or all-day events, please contact the Kouts Town Hall at 219-766-3312 for rental fee information. Electric is available to renters.
PENNSY PARK – 307 S. MAIN STREET
Pennsy Park was dedicated in 2018 and named in honor of the Pennsylvania Railroad that ran through the same spot the park is now located.
Pennsy Park is located on South Main Street. The park has a fun splash pad for the kids, a playground, and a pavilion for children and families to enjoy together.
